Why I'm Running
Who is Joshua Pressley???
Determination and Dedication
A Servant Leader, Not a Politician.
I was born and raised in Atlanta, growing up in the heart of Southwest Atlanta. That upbringing shaped my values—faith, family, hard work, and community service. Today, as a proud resident of Gwinnett County, I carry those values forward in everything I do.
I am running for State Representative because I want to continue serving the community I love—Gwinnett. Ours is one of the most diverse and dynamic counties in the nation, and with that growth comes opportunity, but also responsibility. We must plan wisely for the future, ensuring that our expansion does not come at the expense of our quality of life.
I want to make healthcare more accessible, more affordable, and better prepared for the needs of an aging population. I want to ensure Gwinnett’s diversity remains our strength, not a weakness. Most importantly, I want to be the voice for those too often unheard—the hardworking people who make our community thrive but are overlooked in decision-making.
I have always believed in service. I come from a family of faith and service. Whether in church, within the companies that I have worked for, through my not for profit, or with the Democratic party, service has and will always be a part of my ethos. I am doing my best to teach my children that service makes us better people. The more that we serve, better we connect with the community in which we serve. Service helps us to understand the needs of the community and grounds us all in ownership of that communities’ future.
When we serve each other, we become connected to each other’s future. If we all work together, we can and will progress. I believe the more we build each other up the quicker we all shall progress. Progress is contagious.
